Earlier this week, I went on a short trip to Durham, North Carolina—a place where I’m about to be spending much more time in over the next few weeks, months, and possibly even years. The past few weeks have been filled with immense uncertainty and change, and it’s likely only going to continue and speed up.
Music has always been my way of processing my emotions. If I’m feeling angry, sad, scared, whatever the emotion may be, I use music and the process of making playlists as a way to work through those feelings
For this week’s newsletter, I thought it would be a fun idea to build a playlist together!
Naturally, I’ve already started building playlists around the feeling of leaping into the unknown and all the stress that comes with that. And given that there is an upcoming holiday, I thought that instead of concentrating on the uneasiness that comes with being a human, it would be a good idea to focus on the here and now, the things that ground us, and the things we’re grateful for in life.
So, I’m asking you all, dear readers, for your help. I’m looking for your suggestions on songs that make you feel thankful, make you appreciate the things in your life, or just make you feel centered in general.
Reply to this email or add a comment, and I’ll compile all your suggestions along with some additions of my own and release a new playlist in a couple weeks, just in time for Thanksgiving.
